Heat Protectant OEM: How to Compare Spray and Leave-In Samples

Compare heat protectant spray and leave-in samples for salon use, finish, packaging and substantiated claims before choosing an OEM partner.

Heat protection test conditions and claim evidence
Which heat protectant format should a salon brand choose? Start with the buyer's application: a fine spray suits even distribution over dry or damp hair, while a leave-in cream can combine conditioning and styling preparation. The finished formula, directions and test evidence—not the format alone—determine what protection can be claimed.

Compare samples under the same conditions

Ask for a spray and a cream with the intended fragrance and packaging. On similar hair swatches, compare wet combing, dried feel, visible residue and ease of applying a consistent amount. Ask stylists to record whether fine hair feels weighed down and whether textured or damaged hair remains manageable. A pleasant slip is a sensory result, not proof of heat protection.

Check the finished-product evidence

For a proposed 230°C statement, request the finished-product report, test method, comparison controls, temperature, dose and application instructions. Check that the report actually supports the exact wording and target market. Ingredient supplier data alone cannot establish the finished product's claim. Existing test data can be reviewed against the final formula and packaging before artwork is approved.

Match product and package

For sprays, check mist distribution, pump priming, clogging and leakage during transport. For a cream, compare pump output and whether the product dispenses throughout use. Obtain the proposed pack specification and an actual filled sample before final selection. Compare landed cost as formula, packaging, decoration, freight and any testing—not unit price alone.

What to send an OEM supplier

Share the destination market, hair type, salon or retail channel, desired format, target volume and desired claim. Ask JunChun about sample options and the documents available for the selected formula. Selected established formulas with qualified stock packaging can start from 100 units; packaging changes start from 500 units, subject to process confirmation.

FAQ
