Color-Care Mask OEM: Pair a Salon Service with a Take-Home Product
Plan a private label color-care mask for salon and take-home use. Compare customer routine, retail and professional packs, and a suitable OEM formula route.

Build a colour-care mask around the customer’s post-service routine, then decide whether the professional and take-home offers can share an approved formula. Choose retail and salon pack sizes for their actual users; a coordinated label alone does not make two products the same specification.
Define the customer’s next wash, not just the salon result
A take-home product should help the customer continue a clear routine after leaving the chair. Ask the stylist which problem is most common at home: tangled lengths, an unsuitable conditioning level, confusing use instructions or uncertainty about which product to choose.
Turn that problem into the product brief. Identify the intended hair profile, colour-service background, desired conditioning feel and place in the wash routine. A statement such as “for colour-treated hair” becomes useful when the customer also understands when and how to use the mask.
Give the professional and retail offers different practical jobs
| Project item | Salon-use offer | Take-home offer |
|---|---|---|
| Main user | A trained stylist within an agreed service routine | A customer following clear home directions |
| Package priority | Repeated handling and suitable service quantities | Convenient storage, dispensing and readable instructions |
| Commercial question | How the product fits the service | Why the customer would buy and use it at home |
| Formula decision | Share a formula only when the approved use, application and pack requirements suit both | |
This is a channel-planning framework. The final version determines the application amount, contact time, rinsing and supported claims. Do not assume a lower pH or a colour-care name establishes a universal fade-prevention result.
Use current retail activity as context, not a copied specification
INNERSENSE Asia’s notice listed 15 October 2026 for a repair mask in Japan, including a smaller format. That is a useful example of professional-inspired care offered to home users. It is not evidence that a different mask has the same formula, technical mechanism or performance.
For a salon distributor, the opportunity is a more understandable aftercare offer: one selected mask, a suitable take-home pack and an explanation the stylist can give accurately. Decide what that product contributes before adding a separate conditioner or leave-in.
Compare the sample on the intended colour-care routine
Record the relevant hair background
Include colour or bleach history, hair profile and the existing shampoo and styling steps. Compare the proposed sample under its intended directions. Look at distribution, detangling, rinse feel and dry handling alongside any product-specific colour observations.
Agree the evidence for a stronger claim
If the brand wants to quantify colour retention, breakage reduction or duration, define a suitable finished-product evaluation before approving the claim. Sample preference is useful for selection, but it should not be converted into a numerical performance statement.
Plan the JunChun formula and pack route
JunChun’s existing acidic colour-care project includes a 500 ml salon route. The supplied JUXSKENB artwork also provides a 300 ml retail-pack reference for discussion. Review the desired formula, component, decoration and channel together before deciding which combination to quote.
JunChun can coordinate formula selection, samples, packaging and export-project requirements. Selected mature formulas with compatible stock packaging may start at 100 pieces per SKU. Packaging changes are reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to actual process minimums; professional packs are confirmed separately.
A concise brief lets the team propose a relevant route: one target customer, the desired aftercare role and the preferred salon or retail size. It also makes it easier to keep product pages, staff guidance and labels consistent.
Frequently asked questions
Can the professional and take-home mask use the same formula?
Possibly, when the approved use method, sample and packaging fit both channels. Confirm the actual versions rather than relying on matching names.
Does acidic mean that fading will be prevented?
No. A specific colour-retention claim requires appropriate evidence for the finished product and use conditions.
Are the 300 ml and 500 ml routes automatically the same order minimum?
No. Their components, decoration and production requirements are reviewed separately for the project.
